Making a felt pizza is such a fun, creative, open ended activity for toddlers and preschoolers! Cut the shapes needed ahead of time and watch the creativity begin!
Materials: felt, scissors, pan (optional)
1) Cut pieces from different color felt. For example, one large circle for the crust, smaller circle or circles for the sauce, strips of felt for cheese, different shapes and colors for meat and veggies.
2) Model for your child how to pretend to make a pizza with felt pieces.
3) Allow time for independent pretend play.

How do you keep this pizza from spreading its ingredients all over the house? I gave B a few paper bowls to put the ingredients in (a great way to practice sorting) and put the paper bowls and crust right into a gallon size ziplock bag.
Overall, this activity took me less than 10 minutes to prepare and was a great way to get B to use his imagination!
