I must admit when I first saw this Acka Backa Soda Cracker song/rhyme on paper I thought it was a bit on the baby talk side. I mean it doesn’t even make sense. Once we did it during story time at the library, it was an instant favorite of B’s and therefore a favorite of mine.
-Hold your baby in your lap facing you or looking out.
-Rock backwards on the acka backa part and forward on the second half of the phrase.
-On “up goes you”, lift your baby into the air.
-On “I love you”, give your baby a big hug/squeeze.
-I think I made up my own thing for the “boo” part. I must have lifted him up in the air again because he liked that part a lot.
-Or make up your own movements and motions depending on your baby’s age.
Give it a few tries and I’m sure it will be a favorite in your home. =)
