These printable picture rhyming cards from Prekinders are a great way to practice rhyming!
This specific printable is made for matching the rhyming pictures but when I printed them I was thinking of presenting it to B like they do in between shows on Noggin/Nick Jr. He loves those little games. They say something like “Which word rhymes with cat? Bat or rat? That’s right cat and bat sound the same. They rhyme.”
Let me just say that when I first did this with B he got them ALL right. I was thinking “Wow! He knows how to rhyme already!” I couldn’t wait for my husband to get home so we could show him. However, when we got it out again later (and again the next day to make sure it wasn’t a fluke) he got every single one wrong. Ha ha! So needless to say we are still working on it. B loves this game (I think because of Nick Jr.) and asks to play it all of the time!

I just noticed this post for the rhyming cards and wanted to thank you for the idea and the link. I have been focusing on the sounds of the letters as we do our letter of the week, but mostly only the beginning sound. I think we should do some rhyming too. I bookmarked the link as there are so many different activities that I want to use. Thank you again.
