When N was a baby, I made sensory bottles for her. She has since grown out of them so I turned them into play kitchen spices (pictured above).
These have been a hit! In the bottles I used beads, pom poms, noodles, beans, and rice. I didn’t write the names of spices on the bottles and I’m glad I didn’t. It is fun to hear what B calls them as he adds them to his recipes.
**Make sure to glue the tops shut!

Did you super glue the lids shut? I need to do the same thing for my son’s kitchen.
January 14, 2011 at 1:59 pmThinking about my last post I realized how un-intelligent that question made me sound. Of COURSE you would super glue them shut so that your baby wouldn’t choke on the small items inside. –Early in the morning and apparently my brain isn’t working. Please forgive & don’t judge me.

January 20, 2011 at 7:15 pmWhat a great idea! My daughter loves to play with my spice jars anyway. Now, I’m really regretting tossing the empty cinnamon bottle this weekend. 🙂
