This DIY Minecraft Chest is easy to make, fun to play with, and makes a great gift!
Materials:
- box
- black permanent marker
- clear packaging tape
- Minecraft Wood printable
Tape the top of your box shut so that you do not have any open sides.
Measure about 2-3 inches down from the top and draw a line around 3 sides of the box.
Use a knife to cut along the line (parents only). Remember to not cut along the back of the chest.
Measure and draw a line about 1 inch from the edge of each side.
Color or paint the outside edges of each side black.
The permanent marker colors right over the tape and stays on once it is dry.
Print a piece of Minecraft Wood for each side of your chest. Glue each piece onto the box.
Depending on the size of your box, you may need more than one piece for each side or you might need to trim the printable to fit.
Use your black marker or paint to cover any areas of the box that are still showing.
Tape the edges of the Minecraft wood to the chest using clear packaging tape.
Use a silver permanent marker to draw the handle of the chest or glue on a piece of aluminum foil.
Not only is this chest fun for hours of pretend play, but it makes a really cool gift.
We paired the chest we made with a diamond sword for a friend’s birthday and tucked several Minecraft games and crafts inside.
It was a huge hit!
