Make Your Own Shark Game for Kids

With a few things you already have on hand at your house, you can make your own Shark Game for kids!

Supplies:

  • plastic container (1/2 gallon)
  • scissors
  • glue
  • marker or paint
  • thumb tack or nail
  • string
  • cardboard
  • printable

Draw a mouth as shown (triangular shape – think greater than/less than symbol) with a permanent marker and cut it out.

Use a marker or paint to cover the plastic container (shark). This step is optional. You can also use stickers or tape to decorate it.

Using glue, add the eyes, mouth, and fin from the printable and set aside the fish for later.

If you don’t want to use the printable, simply draw or paint your details and draw a fish on a piece of paper or cardstock.

Cut a piece of string that is 1 1/2 times the length of your plastic container. It is ok if it is longer than that. You just don’t want it to be too short.

Glue or tape one end of the string to the back of the fish. Trace the outline of the fish onto a piece of cardboard. Cut it out and glue the fish to the cardboard. This will give the fish the weight it needs.

Use a small nail or thumb tack to poke a hole in the cap of the container. Thread the other side of the string through the hole and tie a knot. Make sure your knot is large enough that it won’t slip through the cap.

Screw on the cap and you are ready for action!

Hold the handle of the shark and use your arm to swing the fish up and into the mouth of the shark.

If the shark eats the fish, you win!
