Styrofoam Sculptures are an open ended STEM activity for all ages! What can you create with styrofoam and toothpicks?
I had a package delivered the other day that had packing peanuts inside and I knew I had to put them to good use. I put a bunch in a bowl along with a container of toothpicks and presented it to B (5.5 years old).
I wanted to see what he’d come up with so I didn’t give him any instruction. Instead I told him I had saved them for him to create something fun.
First, he made an abstract sculpture. He was so proud of it.
Then, he had a different idea to make people and animal sculptures. Such a fun open ended activity!

Now that is getting creative, nice! I bet they could be used for holiday decorations too. Think they deserve a pin on Pinterest too!
