This super simple air dry clay recipe is easy to prepare and fun to get creative with!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of Baking Soda
- 1 cup of Corn Starch
- 1 1/2 cups of cold water
- Food Coloring (optional)
This recipe will make enough for 4 individual balls of dough.
Whisk together the ingredients in a large pot and heat over medium heat until it starts to bubble, whisking almost constantly.
Keep mixing while the dough cooks, thickens and starts to pull together. This was fast – only 1-2 minutes
Dump the hot dough into a glass bowl and cover with a wet towel until its cool enough to handle.
The last step is to knead the dough. I formed it into equal balls and put in Ziploc bags until we were ready to use it.
The kids had SO MUCH fun working with this dough.
It was soft and light, as well as easy to roll. The only problem we had was that once dried, the dough did crack somewhat.
Also, if you places items in the clay, push down hard, otherwise they will fall out once the clay dries.
I will absolutely make this dough again!!
