Your toddler or preschooler will love this ice cube transfer activity. Put a little food coloring in your ice cube tray so that your child can see them in the water.
- First, fill ice cube trays with water and food coloring. I used a couple of Christmas shaped trays from the dollar store and made blue snowmen and green Christmas tree ice cubes.
- Give each child 2 bowls.
- Fill one with water and dump the ice cubes in. Leave the other bowl empty.
- Challenge your child to transfer all of the ice cubes from one bowl to the other with different utensils like tongs, spoons, slotted spoons, etc.
B had his friend had so much fun transferring all of the cubes and then dumping them back in over and over again. After the special ice melted, I gave them regular ice and discovered that plain white ice was just as much fun!
