Clothes Pin Game

Clothes Pin Game
This clothes pin game was a good excuse to have B work with clothes pins (great for motor skill development), but it turned into a fun way to practice counting too.
clothes pin game
Materials: clothes pins, 1 die, something to clip on (shelf from pantry shown above)
Here’s how to play:
Roll the die. Clip the corresponding number of clothes pins on the first row.
Roll the die again. Clip the corresponding number of clothes pins on the second row.
Keep going until all of the rows are filled or stop and talk about which row has more or less and start over again.
Another Variation:
Label each row with a number 1-6. When you roll a 4, clip four clothes pins in the 4th row. When you roll a 2, clip two clothes pins in the 2nd row.
Check out this ribbon weaving activity for another way to use this type of shelf!

Great way to learn about numbers and then verbalize what is going on using more and less. I love this idea and all the material needed are probably right in your home.
