One of our family’s favorite holiday traditions includes our elf, Pinnochio. He’s from a book/doll set called Elf on the Shelf.
When we first bought our little guy, he wasn’t super popular and some people thought he was a little, *ahem*, creepy. But rest assured, he is NOT and will absolutely make your holiday sparkle even more for your tots.
Basically, he (or she! They now sell skirts if your elf would like to be female) is one of Santa’s elves, sent to make sure everything (and everyone) is in tip top shape.
He hides (okay, okay… Mom or Dad hides him after the kiddos have gone to sleep) and it’s a treat to find him in the morning. He’ll stay perched there all day, keeping an eye on things, only to fly back to the North Pole each night.
Ours is named Pinnochio and is always landing in the oddest places, from the top of the television to hanging off our chandelier. The only rule we have is that you may NOT touch Pinnochio or he loses his magic (in other words, we look with our eyes and not our hands).

-Replace family photos with those of the elf
-Hide rocks in socks… with the elf in the sock, too!
