Need a fun way to practice spelling words week after week? Practice spelling words with water!
This is a fun way to practice sight words, spelling words or just write letters and numbers. You can adapt this activity to any age, even toddlers who are beginning to draw simple lines and shapes!
We like to fill our water table with water for this activity, but a simple bucket works just fine! Grab a few paintbrushes (the larger ones work best) and you are set to go!
I call out a word, and my girls use their brush to spell the word on the cement on our back patio. We were practicing sight words in these photos, but you can also use it for spelling words, math shapes, etc.
- “Draw a shape with 4 sides”
- “Draw a shape with 3 angles”
- “Write a word that rhymes with dog”
- “Draw 3 straight lines”
- “Make a curvy line”
It’s an easy activity to adapt for any age level, and the kids absolutely love doing it!!
