I love scavenger hunts. I think they are an excellent way to foster critical thinking skills in young minds while having a lot of fun. I posted an outdoor Nature Hunt a few weeks ago but, guys, it’s summer and it’s hot. Heat index warnings are a daily thing and frankly I am just done with summer. So I created this indoor scavenger hunt for my 3 year old.
The beauty about this one is you could do it over and over and never collect the same things twice. For your older kids you could call this an Adjective Scavenger Hunt. When you don’t give the exact item you’re searching for it allows your child to be creative while also using critical thinking skills to determine objects that would fit with the descriptors.
He loved it and we did it 3 times with a no repeat rule. It definitely kept us cool inside while still having a blast. And for my nature loving, never gets hot, needs to be outdoors little boy that is saying something.
