The Easy Bake Oven was an exciting gift for us this Christmas! We baked the cookies that were included in the box the same day. Because the store bought mixes can be a bit pricey (especially for my enthusiastic bakers), we came up with a way to make your own Easy Bake Oven mixes. It is an INCREDIBLY affordable way to keep my girls baking!
Buy a variety of store bought cake and cookie mixes. I even tried some muffin mix, which we are turning into “cakes.”
Using snack sized Ziploc bags, measure 3 Tablespoons of dry mix into each bag.
I was able to make approximately 30 bags of Easy Bake mixes using just a few packages of store bought mixes.
The instructions (included on the printable labels) for mixing and baking: Add 1 Tablespoon of milk or water to the dry mix. Stir, and bake!
These make great gifts, especially if you add some fun sprinkles for the baker to use on their finished cakes.

Hi - I don't see where you tried the cookies. Did they work out? I bought a bag of peanut butter cookie mix to try. Any tips?

Do the store bought Easy Bake mixes taste more like the real deal compared to this abbreviated version of mix? I am trying to find an inexpensive solution to my great granddaughter wanting more mixes but if they won't taste too great then i will have to spring for the real deal.

I have the Easy bake ultimate oven that only comes with the one rectangular pan, can I use this for making cakes or is it just a cookie sheet? Thanks for your help. I will be using your wonderful money saving ideas!

I believe as long as it has a lip on the edge to keep the batter in, you could try to use it with the cake recipes. My best advice is to play with it and see. I hope that helps.
