Fancy Nancy is one of our favorite children’s book characters. My girls have loved reading the Fancy Nancy books by Jane O’Connor since they were each 2 and I am a huge Fancy Nancy fan! Here’s a collection of Fancy Nancy Activities that your kids will love!
The books are sweet stories with a fancy little girl as the main character and her hopelessly plain family. Each story has a glossary of fancy words that is great for building vocabulary in young readers and even for older children.
Other Fancy Nancy Activities:
Fancy Nancy Bonjour Butterfly – Make butterflies out of coffee filters and pipe cleaners or learn to make butterflies out of capital letter B’s.
Fancy Day in Room 1-A -Have a “fancy meal” making a menu and using your best silverware. Dress in fancy clothes too-bonus points for lots of accessories! Make paper flowers with doilies and pipe cleaners like they did at Hello Wonderful. Put a group of them in a jar or vase as your table decoration.
The Fabulous Fashion Boutique -Allow your kids to dress up and have a fashion show inspired by Fancy Nancy’s fabulous style (feather boas are a bonus)! Have them put bananas on their heads for balance.
Aspiring Artist – Help kids set up an art studio in a fancy way. Put out big pieces of paper and various crayons, paint, and glue and let them go wild! Just watch all of the great ideas they will come up with!
Fancy Nancy Tea Parties – Have a Fancy Nancy tea party with your doll! Find an old tea set at a thrift store. Use cheerios for doll “cookies” and water for tea. Remember to drink with your pinkies in the air!
Fancy Nancy and the Dazzling Jewels – Make a fancy necklace with sparkly beads. This is a great activity that younger siblings can do too.
Fancy Nancy and the Delectable Cupcakes – Make your own cupcakes together. Decorate them with sparkly sprinkles and icing.
Fancy Nancy Fanciest Doll in the Universe – Make a Fancy Nancy Tiara like they did at Love Peace and Tiny Feet for you and your doll.
Fancy Nancy Splendiferous Christmas – Create fancy Christmas ornaments together for your Christmas tree. Think sparkly beaded candy canes, tinsel, and glittery ornaments.
Have a Fancy Nancy Birthday Party like they did at Project Nursery. Your own party can be filled with fancy things such as crowns, jewels, dresses, dishes, and more!

I just read this book to my daughter this week and was quite intrigued by the banana face mask. Looks like you and daughter had a fun time!
